Your credit report is a legal record. You have rights over what's in it.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to dispute information that's inaccurate, incomplete, or can't be verified. We teach you how that works in plain English, and we prepare the paperwork if you'd rather not do it alone.

How full service works

How a credit dispute works

This is the process the law sets out. It's the same whether you do it yourself or we help.

  1. Get your reports from all three bureaus

You're entitled to free reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion at AnnualCreditReport.com.

  2. Find what's wrong

Go line by line for accounts, balances, dates, and personal details that are inaccurate or incomplete.

  3. Put your dispute in writing

A clear letter that identifies each item and explains why it's being disputed. FCRA §611, 15 U.S.C. §1681i

  4. Send it by certified mail

Certified mail with a return receipt gives you a dated record of when the bureau received it.

  5. The bureau investigates

The bureau generally has 30 days to investigate and must send you the results in writing. Items that can't be verified must be corrected or deleted.

What we won't promise you

Anyone who guarantees a number is breaking federal law. Here's how we work instead.

  • No score guarantees. Results depend on what's in your reports and how the bureaus and creditors respond.
  • Accurate information stays. No one can legally remove accurate, current, verifiable information. We dispute what's wrong.
  • No charges for work not yet done.Federal law prohibits collecting fees for credit repair services before they're performed.
  • You can do this for free. You have the right to dispute directly with the bureaus yourself. We'll tell you how.
